A Place Where Friends Collaborate To Make UniK MusiK

Hi Sal
Attached is the full mp3 of Snowflake (I will send on the track without vocals via 'send it', as a wav. This should be better quality for you to work with than an mp3. Below are the lyrics - slightly 'avant garde' with a few references to the world this January! If you do have time to translate them into French, maybe keep roughly to the ideas, but use as much license as you want to make words fit, rhyme etc. This should be an interesting project. As ever, no hurry, and no worries if you don't find the time.
Speak to you soon
Richard

The band strikes up a tune
There’s people dancing in the dunes
But all the palm trees are bent
And theres folks are living in tents

There’s a man at the back
A funny looking hat
A stick in his hand
He’s losing his command
This lovely land scared
It’s not so very far
So many turn away
And follow stars today

You know it won’t be easy
So have another drink
Our stocks and shares are falling
Be quiet and let me think
The whole worlds going crazy
Not everything is linked to you

The view from the bus,
As I think about us
Tells another sorry tale
Of a closing down sale

Close your eyes tight shut
Make the madness go away
We’ll find a cosy burrow
Until they go away
Snowflakes in the desert
We’ll simply melt away

Hi Sal
2 mp3's attached. One no vocal. One guitars only (there were several acoustic guitar tracks, all included)
The bpm is 100. There is no fade out on these mp3s.
Cheers
Richard

Hi Richard, did you think of something like that ?
About lyrics :this first trial is not really a translation, but tries to keep the "political" spirit in a little more cynical way, through the eyes of a regular tourist...
Apart from this I'm working since yesterday on a new video project that would be something like the "realtime" recording process of a new "silly tune", funny ?

Hi Sal, It sounds really good! It would be great to have a version, exactly the same as mine but with your vocals and lyrics and maybe, if you are interested, I could send you a guitar part (just one guitar), cool and jazzy/ bossa nova, that you could use to create one of your alternative versions. This would be better than the multiple guitar part I sent you already. ie a project for the future.
Speak to you soon
Richard

Yes I'm really interested in a single guitar clip(I can see you're beginning to know me wel, ahahà).
Just to make it clear : do you want me to sing closer to your melodic line than it was in the clip I post ?
No problemo but I just need to know. Cheers.

Maybe a little closer to the original melody (although what you've done so far sounds good).
On the alternative version, (I will get you the guitar clip by Friday) give it the complete 'Sal' makeover and do what you want!!

Sal, This is great! it sounds like we recorded it live, in the same room!! I love this version! are you going to make it longer or add to the instumentation? The bass sounds fantastic. Very cool. Have a great weekend. Richard

In fact I 'll keep it short, I think, without any overdubs like shaker or vibraslap...The challenge was just the live sound, and it's Ok, with your groovy guitar clip. Have a nice WE. Cheers.
